Helen Cooper - Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

Helen is a Gordonvale local who graduated in Physiotherapy from Queensland University in 1981. Since then she has worked in many areas of physiotherapy in various settings.
In 2016 she graduated with a Masters of Sports Physio from La Trobe University and became a APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist. She worked as a physiotherapist for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Helen has also worked as a Paediatric Physiotherapist with Child health and Cootharinga. 
She has a special interest in Spinal Cord Injury as her father spent over 20 years in a wheelchair after a farm accident.
Helen has worked as a First Aid Officer with Rugby League for more than 10 years and is a member of Sports Medicine Australia. 
Helen is a keen Masters Swimmer and Coach and has a special interest in managing swimming injuries and performance.
Helen assists the Queensland Academy of Sport with local athletes on their programs when needed.
Helen has a special interest in chronic pain and in 2017 attended a 2 week workshop at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.
Helen has recently done further study in Women's Health and hopes this added knowledge will make Gordonvale Physiotherapy the only place you need to go to for all physiotherapy related issues. 

David Holzheimer - Practice Manager

David has many years of experience in office duties and is a vital member of our team.  David's knowledge of the NDIS and his ability to aid participant's in understanding their plan is a great resource to our practice.  David is also the Team Manager of the Cairns Hoopsnakes a wheelchair basketball team and is the Program Officer for Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association.
